Nativity Carvings

I carve with Helen Gibson, one of the Brasstown carvers from John C. Campbell folk school. This nativity set is based on an original pattern developed for the school in the early 1900s. I've carved three sets, although I'm still working on the animals for two of the sets. The white pieces are northern basswood, the dark donkey is butternut, and the oxen is southern basswood. The black sheep is ebonized basswood.
